Eligible bill
Determine which charges fall within covered benefits.
A policy with no annual limit means there is no fixed dollar ceiling on eligible reimbursements during the policy year. It does not mean every bill is covered: the deductible, reimbursement percentage, exclusions, waiting periods and claim rules still apply. You may also see this described as “pet insurance no annual limit.”
No annual limit protects against a dollar ceiling, but it does not remove cost sharing. A $10,000 eligible bill at 80% reimbursement still leaves coinsurance, and the deductible and any non-covered charges remain the owner’s responsibility.
Treat “no annual limit” as one layer in the claim sequence rather than as a promise that every eligible bill is paid in full.

Apply the deductible according to the contract.
Insurer pays its share of the eligible amount.
Covered reimbursements do not stop because a fixed annual dollar limit has been exhausted—but other terms still apply.
The example shows mechanics only. Your issued policy determines the real calculation.
Illustrative math: An “unlimited annual benefit” can coexist with 80% reimbursement. Even without an annual dollar cap, a large eligible claim can leave 20% coinsurance, the deductible and any non-covered items with the owner.
An unlimited annual benefit removes one ceiling, but the rest of the claim math still determines what the policy pays.
